great to have you.

any questions you may have, put them in the message section on assembla.

if you find any bugs (like the one i found today with teleportation traps doing weird stuff), put it into the ticket section on assembla, and simply assign to me.

Too durned lazy to sign up to anything, so I'll post my thoughts here.

- I really like the lamp/map to obscure the maze and progressively show it to you. Much nicer than rogue/hack.

- It ain't a danged quest for ham. The hams are purely incidental. Was Smokey and the Bandit about Coors? Heckno. It was about reaching a destination. Coors was just the motivator.

- I expect things like skeletons and zombies to shamble about randomly, but not hellspawn demonoids or whatever they were called. I expect those to make a beeline for me the second they see me. Maybe the skeletons and zombies attack you only when you get close.

- A couple of times the game paused and buffered up keystrokes, then played 'em back all at once when it got un-confused or garbage collected or whatever made it pause.

- I'd love to see some real puzzles built in. Not sure if your dungeons are random or not, but maybe some sokoban puzzles to get to other ends of the room. Or maybe some Minotaur (http://www.logicmazes.com/theseus.html) puzzles where you have to sneak past a ridiculously overpowered monster by trapping him. Or maybe some Zombie Kitten Attack type puzzles where you can make the monsters fall into their own traps.

- the "trap" text cracked me up. Still managed to hit a couple.

- Why do dungeons have food, potions, and gold scattered about everywhere?

- I didn't get a tombstone when I died. Tombstone!

- I like that the only keys necessary are the arrows. It's the simplest possible control scheme. I don't like games where I need to memorize a buncha controls, which is likely why I never got too deeply into rogue/hack.

- Surprised you went with neither hexagonal nor isometric.

Interesting Game :)

1.) Fun Random Map Generation :)

2.) I think you DEFINITELY need to inform the user that the only keys needed are the arrow keys - Spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to eat ham...

3.) Tooltips, Please?

My Current Inventory:

8 Potions
2 Daggers
4 Torches
2 Ringmails (I think)
2 Lanterns
2 Red Keys
2 Yellow Keys
1 Light Blue Key
2 Wooden Shields
5 Hams
2 Platemail Armours
2.... Magical Lantern?
1 Dark Blue Key
3 Long Swords
1 Purple Key
1 Helmet

Stats:

Hmmm...

2 Attack
6 Defense
7 Health
8 Speed (Does speed actually do anything? Movement Glitch: Holding down an arrow key "Teleports" you)
2779 Gold
146 Sight (I have alot of Lanterns :p), slowly decreasing over time.
4 / 40 XP
1 Ham (Although I have 7 at the top...)
On: Attack mode

I'm pretty much invincible atm :p
